Dipti Patel, M.D.

Dr. Dipti Patel is a Magna Cum Laude graduate in Biochemistry with honors and independent research from Binghamton University in Binghamton, New York. She has received her Doctorate of Medicine from Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York, New York. She completed Internal Medicine Internship/Residency at Mt. Sinai Medical Center. She also went on to complete a fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Massachusetts General Hospital at Harvard Medical School. She is board certified in Medical Oncology, Hematology and Internal Medicine and is Co-Director of the Fairfax Stem Cell Transplant Program.

Dr. Patel has received multiple awards and honors which include the Harvard Partners in Excellence Award (2002), Excellence in Teaching Awards (2000 and 1999), National Institutes of Health Research Fellowship (1994 and 1993), NASE Achievement Scholarship (1992), and Distinguished Honors and Independent Research in Biochemistry (1992). A published author, Dr. Patel is also a member of the American Medical Association and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

In addition to dedicated care for her patients, Dr. Patel has a special interest in hematologic malignancies and breast cancer and runs the Lymphoma Tumor Board at Inova Fairfax Hospital.

Dr. Patel lives in Northern Virginia with her husband and two children. She is married to Dr. Donnelly at Georgetown University Medical Center whose expertise is in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. She enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, running and reading.
